Ryan was a budding Pokemon trainer from the Hoenn region and had been one for quite some time. Even though he has only one Pokemon it is considered his closest companion. His Pokemon was a Trapinch which was cleverly (or not) nicknamed Pinchy. Pinchy was different than a lot of other Trapinch; for one he wasn't orange like a Trapinch normally is; instead his body was a steel blue colour. Another difference with Pinchy is that he couldn't evolve. No matter how hard Ryan trained him Pinchy would never evolve. Ryan still cared for Pinchy spite its inability to evolve even though he truly wanted a Flygon. It was this care that Ryan showed that changed his life forever.
"So where are we off to today Pinchy; how does Mauville City sound?" asked Ryan leaving his home
Pinchy just shook its head at him and looked up at him.
"No? How about the desert then?" he asked.
The desert was one of Pinchy's favourite places and as such hearing Ryan mention it filled him with excitement. Pinchy nodded quickly and began running as fast as his four legs could carry him. Ryan followed not too far behind and not long after Ryan and Pinchy had reached the entrance to the desert. As the two stepped in together Ryan realised a group of Trapinch that were mulling about on the surface of the sand. As soon as the Trapinch had seen them they almost instantly dug underneath the ground in fear.
Pinchy looked around excitedly happy to see his original home. He ran ahead of Ryan again and began rolling around in the soft sand of the desert. Ryan just looked at his Pokemon and chuckled slightly.
"No wonder you like it here Pinchy" he smiled.
Ryan just sat on the sand next to Pinchy watching him roll around in it. Eventually Ryan began daydreaming to himself while Pinchy looked up at him. He wasn't paying any attention to Pinchy and for a moment Pinchy was worried. He wasn't sure what Ryan was doing and to get his attention clamped his jaws around Ryan's arm. Ryan instantly shot up and yelped out in pain.
"OW! Pinchy… what was that for?! I know you're excited to be here but that doesn't give you a reason to bite my arm off" he yelled shaking his arm around until Pinchy came off.
He looked at his arm which was bruised slightly and then towards Pinchy.
"Don't be mad Ryan; I'm doing this for you" Pinchy replied
Ryan almost fell over backwards when he heard Pinchy speak. He'd never heard him speak before, so why could he hear him now?
"Pinchy! You can talk?" he said stumbling before falling over in the sand.
"I've always been able to talk Ryan, you just haven't been able to understand me until now" answered Pinchy.
"So why'd you bite me?" Ryan asked.
"I wanted to give you something in return for caring for me so well. There's a reason I bit you; look at your arm" replied Pinchy.
"I know it's bruised Pinchy, but what else is wrong with… what the heck?" mouthed Ryan looking at the arm Pinchy had bitten. To his surprise his arm was beginning to shorten and green scales began to spread out from where Pinchy bit him.
"What are you doing Pinchy? This is nothing like you" Ryan asked still eyeing his scaly arm.
"Ryan, I'm turning you into the strongest form of my species. You're becoming a Flygon" Pinchy answered
Ryan just stayed quiet in shock feeling the scales on his arm spread. Eventually the scales spread to his hand and his fingers merged becoming three claws. His arm continued to grow shorter and shortly after the other arm began changing. He just watched in awe as the light green scales continued to spread to his chest and down his stomach. He felt bones crack as his legs pushed out to the sides of his body while the upper sections of his legs grew wide and round causing his pants to tear off. His newly formed upper legs covered themselves in scales while blue scales appeared where his knees once were.
"This can't be happening!" he yelled still feeling the bones in his legs throb "this isn't real!"
"This is all real Ryan. Soon you'll belong to our kind" said Pinchy stepping back.
Ryan continued to watch as his toes began to merge into small stubs that were covered in light green scales and had a blue tip. His body became slimmer and his tailbone began pushing out of his body forming a long striped tail alternating between light green and blue ending with three diamond shaped membranes. Ryan felt his shoulders split in two as large wings shot from his back tearing off his shirt. The wings were gold in colour around the edges and the centre of the wings were coloured a light green similar to his body. Ryan felt a burning in his neck as it began growing longer and his face pushed out slightly. He closed his eyes in pain as he felt something growing around them. After the feeling passed Ryan opened his eyes and realised how differently the world looked.
"Pinchy, what just happened to my eyes?" asked Ryan.
"Your eyes are now covered by gold goggle-like lenses that protect your eyes in sandstorms; also your eyes are now fully black with a white pupil" Pinchy answered "Everything looks different now doesn't it?"
"Yeah… everything looks different. Might take a little time to get used to these new eyes" Ryan answered.
The transformation was nearing its end. Ryan began to feel his head itch and made use of his new claws to scratch at it. As he scratched the sides of his head his brown hair began falling out leaving only the middle clump of hair attached. His leftover hair changed to a blue colour began to grow behind him splitting in two and hardening for a while. He looked in shock at the two long growths from the top of his head realising all of a sudden what they were; he'd grown antennae.
Ryan was no longer his human self; he now looked completely like a Flygon. He looked over his body realising it shining faintly before it dimmed away. His body had grown during the transformation leaving him at a height of two metres. He looked down at the tiny Trapinch below him and was almost speechless.
"I can't believe this Pinchy; I'm a Flygon! This would be something I'd only ever dream of!" said Ryan taking his first few steps in his new form.
"So now that you're a Flygon Ryan; what are we going to do?" asked Pinchy.
Ryan thought quietly for a moment before speaking.
"Hmm… well I'll have to tell my family what happened. I doubt they'll believe me but we'll just have to see" he answered before beginning to walk out of the desert "C'mon Pinchy we've got a long way to get home.
"Did you forget that you have wings Ryan? You can fly us there" replied Pinchy.
"Oh yeah… I knew that" said Ryan grinning as he picked up Pinchy in one of his hands.
Ryan looked up into the skies and took off by instinct towards home knowing the explanation he'd have to give his parents. It'd be hard for his parents to swallow being told that their son has turned into some sort of dragon insect. Ryan pushed his doubts out of his mind and continued soaring towards home with a clear objective in mind.

Author's Note: I'm breaking my usual tone here and going for a more romantic one for parts of this which may touch ever so slightly on NSFW - so if you don't like that kinda stuff, this is just a warning.
Thunder echoed across the city as the heavens opened and poured down in gallons at a time. In the distance, the turbulent sky was slowly darkening as the sun was meeting the horizon beyond the clouds. Night had begun once again. A couple miles away, in a small suburban house, a cold nose pressed firmly on the pane of glass, as his eyes lazily scanned the unfolding scene beyond him. The steady beat of rain on the roof and decking outside rev
